Grills, ovens and fire pits that outlast the heat. The Robricks Structural Brick — for those who don't compromise on durability.

The brick

Built for
grills and ovens.

A wood-fired grill or oven lives exposed to heat, ash and weather, so it pays to build it with a brick that won't fatigue. The Robricks Structural Brick is compressed clay, cold-pressed to 15 MPa — three times the strength of a conventional brick. That density gives it thermal mass, so it stores and releases heat evenly, and a raw finish that looks better with age.

It works for backyard grills, clay and pizza ovens, fire pits and full outdoor kitchens. Because it is pressed and not kiln-fired, it keeps exact dimensions: courses line up without cutting and the build stays clean. For the chamber in direct contact with the flame we recommend lining it with firebrick; the Robricks structures, contains and finishes the whole.

Yes. It is one of the most common uses of the Robricks Structural Brick. It withstands surface heat and weather; the area in direct contact with the embers is lined with firebrick.
It depends on the design, but a standard backyard grill runs from 200 to 400 bricks. Send us the dimensions and we'll calculate the exact quantity at no cost.
